Yes, now the Dangerpous Pictures act has come into effect, the government are NOW using that as a precedent to ban possession of even more material they find distasteful. Punishable by up to 3 years in Jail!

Their next target is sexually explicit cartoons of characters who APPEAR under 18 years of age.

That means fans of Japanese Manga comics and Anime films will be made overnight criminals of as these often feature strong adult themes and the characters often appear extremely young owing to the large expressive eyes and small noses these charcters usually have.

Hentai images will certainly be prosecutable, then there's those pornographic Simpsons cartoons. Some of which would undoubtedly land you in the dock if they featured Bart, Lisa or any of the other kids.

Considering something like 1 in 4 jobs is now dependant on a CRB check I think a conviction for possessing this stuff would ultimately prevent you from working in any career to do with children or the elderly, despite the fact this material is presently legal and hasn;t done the Japanese any harm.

How on earth is jailing people just for owning material thats in poor taste in any way compatible with living in a free society?

How do you tell the age of a cartoon character anyway?

The world has gone mad!

Heres some news links
